Yarra Valley Dairy

Yarra Valley Dairy - Handmade Farmhouse Cheeses

Yarra Valley Dairy is part of the property known as “Hubertswood” owned by the Mooney Family. Named after one of the early settlers and vignerons, Hubert de Castella, the property is now used for producing the fine quality farmhouse cheeses in what is known as one of the premium wine and dairy regions of Australia.

They make a range of delicious, fresh artisan cheeses from both cows and goats milk, including the much loved Yering - semi-mature white mould goats milk cheese.

The rich and buttery Yarra Valley Dairy Yering™ makes an appearance in nearly all of our Cheese Hampers thanks to its luscious mouth feel and Camembert tones. The dairy's artisan cheesemakers use a traditional process in the maturing room to create a delicate white mould that breaks down in the centre, producing a creamy and velvety texture.

Their matured cheeses are created with the vast knowledge and experience gained locally and in Europe by their amazing cheesemakers. They all go through a traditional process in the maturing room, with the delicate white mould breaking down the centre, producing a creamy, velvety texture. The end result is rich, well rounded cheeses with full flavour and good length.

Koonara Wines Angel's Share

Koonara Wines - Angel's Share

“When wine is aged in oak barrels, a portion of it evaporates; winemakers call this the “Angel’s Share” The rest is their gift to us... Coonawarra is a small wine region in South Australia, famous for it’s Cabernet Sauvignon and it’s cool-climate spicy Shiraz. ‘Koonara’ is the name of the Reschke family property in Coonawarra.

Snowgoose wine gift boxes feature the finest quality wine, sourced from the Five-Star Koonara Winery in South Australia's Coonawarra region. Owner Dru Reschke keeps the vineyards low yielding, with vines that perfectly ripen smaller thick-skinned grapes. Because wine colour and flavour develop from these skins, the vineyard produces more skin per litre, resulting in exceptional tasting wines. Only a limited quantity of Koonara Wine is released to the public, making these a rare wine gift to receive.

Snowgoose red wine gift hampers showcase Koonara Angel's Peak Cabernet Sauvignon, a deep crimson wine displaying luscious blackcurrant and blueberry notes, with a hint of mocha and cigar box.

Koonara presses this wine as lightly as an angel’s tread to prevent the release of harsh tannins locked inside the grape skins. The result is a beautiful cool climate wine offering a touch of guava on the palate to accompany the crisp apple and gooseberry notes.

Keith Tulloch Wine Making

Keith Tulloch - Five Generations of Wine Making

Since 1997, Keith Tulloch has been producing handmade wines of distinction at his family estate, nestled amidst Pokolbin’s rolling hills.

As a fourth-generation winemaker of the Tulloch dynasty, Keith adds his unique stamp to create wines that blend personality, style, and flair while showcasing the best characteristics of Hunter Valley Wine.

We’ve selected Keith’s 'The Kester' Shiraz, handmade using grapes from 85-year old vines and matured for 20 months in a mixture of fine French oak barriques. This beautiful wine expresses a dense, blood-plum colour and racy flavour energy, greeting the palate with a finely woven tapestry of gentle black fruits, dry spice, and deluxe French oak.

Nina's Chocolates

Nina’s Chocolates - Makers of Fine Handmade Chocolates

Visit Nina’s Chocolates in Gymea and you’ll discover (like we did) molten waterfalls of exquisite chocolate. It was here, in his kitchen shop, that owner and master chocolatier George Magganas began creating his collection of more than 150 different chocolates using a base of imported Belgian couverture.

Before chocolate consumed him, George worked for twenty years as a food technologist for a multinational food company. While at home, he began experimenting with chocolate making as a hobby using artisan methods. After an unexpected redundancy in 1995, George’s dream of opening a chocolate shop in his retirement was fast forwarded and, encouraged by his wife May, Nina’s Chocolates was born.

Today, almost twenty years later, Nina’s is a chocolate lover’s paradise and the go-to place for the finest handmade chocolates. Over 30 staff work to create chocolate experiences following George’s philosophy that the chocolate experience begins with eating with your eyes, followed by the taste sensation that instils a sense of wonder.

From hand rolled truffles and fondants to pralines and cups filled with creamy ganache, the presentation is every bit as beautiful as the mouth-watering flavours. To date, George’s artisanal pieces have won over 100 awards thanks to his craft and selection of only the finest ingredients. While recently retired from the business, he remains a consultant to hand down his craft and affection for confection to the next generation of chocolatiers.

Maya Sunny Honey

Maya Sunny Honey - from Beehive to the Jar

The stylish upside down jars of Maya Sunny Honeycomb are the signature not just of its brand creator, but of the artisan handcrafted methods he uses to bring you something truly special. Based in Mudgee, New South Wales, second generation beekeeper Andrew Wyszynski has worked to perfect his art for more than 30 years. The results are nothing short of spectacular, because, inside every jar of his delectable honeycomb, a beautiful story takes place.

Using his innovative collection system, Andrew places each empty jar upside down onto the beehive, allowing the bees to fly freely in and out. Over the period of a month, around 450-500 hardworking bees form a mini beehive inside the jar, sculpting a ravishing honeycomb. Once they’ve finished their work, the bees leave the jar and Andrew seals it using natural healing propolis to bring you honeycomb that’s literally a beehive in a jar.

Since its launch, this family run business has received multiple awards for its artisanal 100% raw honey range. Snowgoose is thrilled to bring you the smooth, subtle, naturally sweet Maya Sunny Honeycomb in its purest form, absolutely as nature intended it to be.
